Excellent painting of a well known character.

What a great look for Scrooge!

A great looking Scrooge and all the better for been blue, it give it a ghostly look.

Brilliant painting of Scrooge Lewis, mind you, he's a brave man sitting, listening to paranormal activity. You would see the flames from my heels as I was running for the door.

You win , Lewis. I have pulled the book from the book shelves Illustrations by Emil Weiss , printed Oct 1944 by Edson (printers)Ltd given to me for Christmas '45 , made the journey from the UK to NZ , has lost its spine , requires careful handling - but is well loved !! I await to see the reformed character after the visitation of the three Ghosts of Christmas

Marvellous portrait Lewis!

A very good portrait, Lewis.

Such a brilliant portrait!

Thanks to all for your comments. Yes Mike, I have a very similar copy of the book, read so often it's amazing we haven't worn the words out.

Its a brilliant painting Lewis, huge admiration for your work.

Yes, excellent character drawing skills Lew, and I’ve said it before, but I do like this blue format.

Brilliant Lew. You're the king of expressions.

Another super Scrooge Lew.

Amazing work Lewis.

There's meanness and suspicion in that face Lewis, well done!

Bah Humbug !! Great character, how one might imagine Mr. Scrooge.

He’s got a shock coming when that door flies open, great work Lewis.

Pure brilliance Lewis! I love how you have a mixed expression of meanness and apprehension.

All I can say is WOW! excellent work as usual Lewis.

I had to do another Scrooge. This time less cartoony. This was painted very loosely with watercolour, and then finished with a polychromos pencil. I lost some of the whites in the hair, and used a little gouache.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
