Art Nouveau-ish. by Lewis Cooper

I like this very much Lew. You’ve produced a very thoughtful look and I like the surrounding flowers etc. I usually comment on your humorous work as you know, but I think today’s offering reminds me of your true artistic skills which I might miss in the daily laughter!

You have done a few in this style Lewis and its a style that really suits you. This is beautiful.

Wonderful work Lewis, the way you’ve done her hair is amazing - a decent stab at the Mucha style. I know what it’s like to paint with failing hands, so I don’t think I could get anywhere near his style

This is beautiful Lewis, that hair is brilliant, and the whole composition is perfect.

It has a real beauty to it Lewis

It’s all been said Lew , its beautifully done .

Beautiful, Lewis and I like all the attention to details such as the delicate shadows!

Brilliant Lewis.

Beautifully painted, Lewis, especially the hair - and the flowers frame it all so well. I love the Art Nouveau style.

Once again, and as expected from you now, a brilliant illustration!

Splendid - despite your concerns there is no evidence here that you need drawing aids or stencils.

A lovely rendition in the style of art nouveau Lewis. A rather sad expression on the young women’s face but surrounded by those pretty flowers.

Thanks so much for your comments.

Very Mucha style Lew , great artwork, brilliant colours .

A stunner Lewis, it's a beautiful piece exquisitely drawn showcasing your great talent.

Superbly done Lewis. Love Mucha and love yours. No need for stencils at all.

I always knew that an artist whose work is mostly comic and uses the art of caricature (and caricature is certainly a great skill and art) can draw with infinite grace and classical beauty. You have it all Lewis.

Absolute cracker Lew. Love it

Stunning work Lewis.

Thanks again to everybody for your kind and generous comments. Very much appreciated.

Very impressive composition and detail to complement the portrait, Lewis.

Super job Lewis, I particularly like the details in the hair. It’s good to take art styles and make them own.

Very attractive indeed.

An attempt at Art Nouveau style (well...Alphonse Mucha style). Had to rethink it, he used organic shapes and patterns that I couldn't do with my hands, I keep meaning to try some drawings aids or stencils but haven't yet. Had to fill background with leaves etc...so more INFLUENCED by art nouveau. Watercolour and pen.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
