Very stylish Dixie. I love any you’ve painted that ship. Your more serious side is really very good and skilful, but don’t give up the chuckles because we all need them!

Simply sublime Lewis.

That should read I love how you’ve painted that ship!

Thanks very much for having a look and your comments. Tessa, the ship is taken from a famous art deco poster by A.M. Cassandre...I wish I could simplify and stylise things like that.

Lovely - very PG Wodehouse.

Iconic Lewis - love it!

This is outstanding Lew it’s absolutely brilliant and so different from your work . I don’t think you should give up the characters as we love them so much , but to see work like this would be a treat as well. I very proud to have been given credit from Tessa all be it wrongly , however I could not have done anything as good as this.

Eh? Oh yes I see! Sorry guys. Put it down to earlyish morning! I looked up Cassandre and agree he did some fabulous poster design, not someone I was aware of.

Lovely work, Lewis, sleek and stylish. Love Art Deco - and also looking forward to seeing more of your Art Nouveau.

A fabulous era, I’ve always loved this style of drawing - delightful and beautiful work Lew!

Not a victory of style over substance, but a victory of style and substance.

Art deco classic, wonderful ship 👍

Lovely style Lewis.

Fabulously nostalgic Lewis.

Lovely work Lew. May yesterday never die..

This is superb Lewis, you are so good at whatever you do, and I agree, keep the characters coming, we all need something to make us smile

Such style and class Lewis, the ship is brilliant.

Fabulous and good composition 😊

Great image, I’m looking forward to number 11.

This is brilliant Dixie. Great style of the era. Beautifully done.

Thanks to everybody for your comments, they are very much valued. Even those to Dixie (whoever he is), two in this post. Oddly it happens a lot. Perhaps we're twins and don't know it.

Lovely liner Lewis and tiny tug!

I've always liked art deco style. In a recent re-shuffle of my gallery, I found I'd only done nine pics. I thought I'd done loads. So here's number 10. The ship is taken from one of A.M. Cassandre's brilliant 1930's art deco posters. Watercolour, gouache, coloured pencil and pen. 16 x 12 inches.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
