Good to see your work here again and its evolution. Lovely loose style with plenty of water and splattering ...... it's full of life and atmosphere; super work!

Glad to see you back, Kim. This is again a beautiful painting, full of sunshine. Love the way you painted it in a vignette form. I agree with Avril about the splattering. Well done!

Great to see your wonderful, bright watercolours again Kim.

Great little scene, in a lovely style

Congratulations on being elected to the Italian Watercolour Society. You really deserve it.

Lovely vignette - loosely and beautifully painted.

Good stufff Kim, I always get drawn in by these beuttiful paintings with their free and easy, almost nervous quick strokes. best Mick

Lovely loose painting, striking sunny colours. Good to see your work again Kim.

Welcome back! This painting is a bit like a time machine: bringing back a lost world of living, and travel... how the car has transformed the landscape....

You are all very kind - many thanks. Referring to Robert's comment, indeed it is quirky to sit on a wobbly stool in one century and hear the stable, constant motorised moan of another from not too far off.. Nothing wider than a Fiat 500 would squeeze through this aperture, but once it was sufficient in width to accommodate a good chunk of the traffic in the central Alps... Is that progress?

Probably is progress, Kim - but you don't have to like it!

I just love this sort of loose watercolour. I always come home from holidays with watercolours like this that remind me of somewhere I've visited

It's been a while since I last visited - very busy this autumn. I'm sorry to have have missed some great paintings on the site (which I find much improved in both speed of browsing and layout). Here's a little memento from September and a hot couple of hours spent painting the old town gate in Chiavenna. Fortunately the new road has by-passed this area, leaving it in a curious time-warp.
