A mastetrly painting, Kim, yet again. Beautiful flooding light in this.

This is smashing, Kim. I love the vignetting, the colours and especially the beautiful play of sunlight and shadow. Do you know the mountain-paintings of David Bellamy? Yours can certainly stand next to his!! Perfect!!

A painting that beautifully juxtaposes the warmth and cold of mountain scenery. It's lovely.

You climb these things?? S'trewth.... Lovely painting, the colour absolutely clear and fresh and befits the mountain air.

Sky, shadows, rocks ....... they're all spot on. You really do justice to these majestic peaks.

I agree with all above comments, beautiful.

Thanks for that my friends, I really appreciate it. Complementary purples and yellows are guaranteed to strike sparks off each other. It might amuse you to know that I used combinations two of the most (in my experience) intractable earth colours for the rocks: Raw Umber and Sepia. Both granular and disinclined to mix (a bit like me), but very effective if applied with a firm hand.

This reminds me so much of my skiing days (only just over!) and the mountains in the snow with the sun bouncing off the planes and hollows. Beautifully depicted and it is wonderful the way you have conveyed the majesty of these ancient rocks. Colours are magic.

beautiful and delicate ... love the colours

Thumbs up from me, well done

Yet another nice painting. Love the colours.

A wet weekend, so if you can't climb 'em, paint 'em. This is Piz Forato near Chiavenna - an anoymous enough crest that I've glorified a bit with a squally sky. "Forato" means 'pierced', referring to a hole right through the rock on the summit where you can rest quite happily on a hot (or thundery) day. W&N paints on Fabriano medium, 40x30 cm.
