fresh approach to the subject-fluent movements of the brush cool-I enjoy a good work

Immediate attraction to it, but with doubt about the treatment of her hair. Is it too harsh or should there be more lost and found. Not sure and maybe you were trying to portray something else. Would love to know.

Another stunning work, Kim! I really love how you captured the bright, dramatic light across her face and the twinkle in her eye.

Super Kiim, as per usual (dare I say it ? it almost sounds as if I think they just roll off your brush, whereas each portrait I'm sure is a challenge. Its just that you handle them so beautifully!) I'm particularly fascinated by the way you have depicted her glasses, the reflections in them and made by them on her skin. They are so crucial to the depiction of light and shade.

A sensative watercolour of a sensative lady!

Funnily enough, it was the way you had painted the glasses that struck me first too. Then I moved on the the wonderful eyes behind them and after that my eyes just travelled around the painting, enjoying each part. A very unusual treatment of the light and shade, but it is so intriguing it engages the viewer in the excitement of the piece. Keep posting them!

Such skill with watercolour. I am always repeating myself. Superb.

You use watercolour so expertly & create such clever tones and shapes with difficult subjects - Perfect

I much appreciate your remarks. May I confide in you? I (currently) think this is the best portrait I've even painted - perhaps even the best thing I've ever done. Not to boast - these things are very subjective - but for me it represents an ideal solution to a watercolour challenge, and I don't think I can better it.

Beautiful. Wonderful brush strokes giving such vitality to your portraits. Always a pleasure to see....bravissimo!

Paola is a very jolly person, but sensitive (she draws beautifully) and deep down I suspect she's quite shy. She's often to be found standing in the shade of her shop doorway. No 'pose' from Paola: just make do with what you can glimpse...
