Pennies from Heaven by Kat Davies
Lemurs are fascinating creatures. Although they are primates, they are neither monkey nor ape but from the biological order of prosimians. They are allegedly named after the lemures (ghosts or spirits) of Roman mythology due to their appearance including their reflective eyes, the eerie noises they make and their often nocturnal habits. The title was inspired by the famous song of the same name sung by Bing Crosby and the whimsical idea of the baby lemur looking up as if watching for the pennies:- (Extract) Every time it rains it rains Pennies from heaven. Don't you know each cloud contains Pennies from heaven. You'll find yor fortune falling All over town. Be sure that your umbrella is upside down. Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers. If you want the things you love You must have showers. So when you hear it thunder Don't run under a tree. There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me
