As John Lennon would have turned 80 on 9th October 2020, here is a gouache illustration I created 25 years ago; half a lifetime away for me! I published it as a collectable postcard and received an order for several copies from a Mr K Townsend who told me that his office window features in the painting. I sent his order intrigued as to his connection with Abbey Road. A few weeks later I discovered he was none other than Ken Townsend MBE, the legendary sound engineer who worked on several Beatles albums!
