Very nice, indeed!!

A lovely linocut Jenny

Really delightful Jenny.

I really admire the clarity of your prints Jenny. They are alway crisp, clean and beautifully composed. I love the leaves bottom left, the design is fab!

Excellent composition. I really admire linocut work, it has to be well thought out and carefully executed. One mistake and I'd imagine you need to completely rethink it or start again. This is a gem.

It’s beautifully done Jenny I can only echo the comments about it being so accurate clearly done .

Thank you for the encouraging comments! I’ve learned the hard way that preparation is key in doing these - it’s all too easy to think you’ve got a design that works as a pencil drawing, but will often look so different when you cut and print it, so I now block in all the ink areas on my design, then leave it for a few days, then usually make a few changes, and go back to it again a few more times until I’m really happy with it before cutting. You can sometimes make a change or two (or correct a small cutting error) once printed, but best to get it right to start with! I find the worst bit is continually having to do lots of test prints until you finally get rid of all the nasty specks, which I hate, although others see them as the charm of a linocut and don’t bother too much about them. I do admire others who produce complicated linocuts with ‘tonal’ areas using different types of cut, but mine always seem to end up as rather simple designs like this.

Gorgeous!

Superb work.

I like this a lot. Very impressive.

Delightful design and print

Thanks very much, Rachel, Chris, Andrew and Martin - comments appreciated!

Just lovely Jenny.

Another beautiful linocut. I agree with Fiona, you always take such care to obtain the finish that you want to create your own style.

Love the narrative and lovely design work of this Jenny. Superb Lino print work which is very tricky.

Many thanks Sylvia, William and Carole for your very kind comments!

This is very neat Jenny. A simple design that works so well and done in my favourite colour for linoprints - dark blue.

Many thanks, John and Frank! (Dark blue is my favourite colour for linoprints - I started off with black but it now seems rather harsh.)

This is fab-u-lous. I'm so glad you decided to persevere with it.

Bobbie, what a lovely comment, thank you!

Linocut 15 x 20 cm. Finally got round to doing a linocut of this design which I prepared some months ago, but couldn’t seem to get started on.
