Thanks, Alan. Yes, the gallery's been quiet lately, at least in terms of comments, although not new uploads - my previous post was on page 5 the day after I'd uploaded it!! It does tend to be a bit demotivating.

This painting works Jenny. There is a good choice of a limited palette the forms are sympathetic to each other and there is a mysterious element which makes you want to explore the picture. Maybe a little influence of Hockney. And why do you bother - because you're a painter; able to see things as others don't. And you are very fortunate to be able to do so.

Clive, many thanks for your encouraging and unexpected feedback - unexpected because this painting is now on page 10 of the gallery and most people don't take the trouble to look back further than a few pages! Yes, I do like some of Hockney's more recent work although have never really been influenced by him - colour and design have always been the motivating factor in my artwork and I have recently developed a more illustrative style. Thanks again for your welcome comment.
