Thanks so much everyone for your encouraging comments. Maybe I'll keep trying these a while longer - they are very quick to do (if rather messy), but the downside is that I've found that they work best (with the acrylic I'm currently using) on my my best watercolour paper!

Keep trying! You've certainly got the hang of it with nice results.

I think that trying a bit longer is a very good idea because this looks really great Jenny. It's refreshing and modern with yet something timeless in it.

This is lovely, Jenny - looks like a close up take of a blue and white china vase! Exquisite textures and superb composition.

Thanks, Seok. I think it was a bit of beginner's luck that this one worked OK - it was all done in rather a hurry, and the results tend to be unpredictable! I will do some more, though, as they're a bit of a challenge and a nice break from proper painting.
