This is excellent Jenny a beautiful painting.

This is very well done. Jenny!!

A strong sense of design throughout and so enchantingly painted Jenny.

Wonderful painting 🎨

Well done you Jenny - recognise it as one of yours - lots to like about this.

Love the directional hints to take you up the steps and beyond…..really lovely Jenny.

Lovely atmospheric picture beautifully executed

I remember a previous version. I like the style of your work, this is very good.

Lovely style - it reminds me of paintings I have seen on silk - really nice work!

Thank you so much for all the kind comments, they are really appreciated!

Another very fine work in your unique style. You have the skill to simplify things, and that's not easy.

Thanks, Lewis, for your ongoing support and encouragement, much appreciated! Interesting how our styles gradually develop, often with no conscious effort.

It’s better than you think Jenny. Lovely light. Great tree and your seductive style say so!

So easy to see negatives in one’s own work but to my eyes this has real attraction with its reduced palette and atmosphere. But then I DO enjoy paintings landscapes when I get round to it.

Such lovely comments, Martin and Frank - thank you! I decided to use colours that I’ve not used together before, so it took a fair bit of adjustment as I went along, but the 300lb Saunders Waterford paper that I use can take rough treatment! Colours used were all Daniel Smith watercolours - Green Apatite Genuine, Green Gold (although this is really a light green), English Red Ochre, Warm Sepia and Moonglow.

Thanks, Coral!

A lovely piece with contrasting textures, lines and quiet spaces. Beautifully done, Jenny.

Thank you, Seok!

Very nicely painted

Thanks, Romila!

Love that color pallet

Thank you, Michael.

Beautiful and masterfully drawn, I LOVE it.

David, thank you for your very kind and encouraging comment, much appreciated!

A local scene I’ve painted a few times before. Don’t really enjoy doing landscapes but my art club puts on a small exhibition each year for the local Heritage Open Days event, so try to do one or two local scenes for that. My first painting for some time - fully expected it to end up in the bin (the first one after a break from painting usually does!) but did manage to finish it.
