April Forum Challenge

(Thank you to Rikke and Heather for commenting on my earlier post, but I decided to change it.)

Very striking Jenny. Like the "marble" (in my terminology ) effect on the borders.

Love the symmetrical aspects of this painting and the effects you achieved within the border. How did you do the latter?

Thanks, Richard and Spencer! The borders were done by taping off firstly the three vertical bands and painting them with a wash of I think it was Quinacridone Gold with some Alizarin dropped in together with some salt which gives the textured effect when it dries. Then I taped off the horizontal bands and did the same with I think it was Alizarin and Windsor Violet.

This challenge is definitely for you Jenny. Lovely.

Lovely effects, Jenny.

Beautifully done Jenny.

This is even better Jenny!

Always first up with these challenges! Excellent Jenny.

Very eye catching Jenny. I like it a lot.

Thanks very much for the kind comments!

This one bears closer examination to count all the leaves!

Thanks, Frank!
