Happy New Year Jenny , I like this a lot .

Lovely design Jenny, that silhouette works so well. Have you seen the work of Kerry Buck (or Kelly)! Mainly printing, usually collographs… you might find it interesting.

Happy New Year - a lovely collage, Jenny!!

So good and interesting too, as always, Jenny.

Just been examining all the harmonious bits. Such a lot of work pre the collage.

Thanks very much, Paul, Alan, David and Marjorie! Alan, thanks for pointing me to Kerry Buck - wasn’t aware of her work, but really like it, will take a better look later. This collage was actually thrown together rather quickly - I keep a box of acrylic ink backgrounds and other collage bits and pieces, including linocuts that didn’t print well - I cut them up, they’re very useful for collage. The thing I love most about doing collage is that you can move everything around until you’re happy with it - never a plan, just evolves as you go along.

Happy New Year to you too Jenny, a good collage

Never really done collage but I have done many collographs. I thought you’d like her subjects and style. I met her some years ago at an art festival in Norwich, a lovely girl and talented!

Very attractive and interesting work Jenny.

This is fantastic Jenny. I love the contrasting media and techniques. Happy New Year.

Beautiful 😍

And happy new year 🎉

Many thanks, Heather, George, Spencer and Faye!

Lovely image full of pleasing contrasts.

Excellent.

Happy New Year Jenny! Wonderful design and arrangement as well as a harmonious colour selection…..the black silhouettes make it a striking image.

Like your Jenny’s Jenny. Happy New Year!!

A beautifully composed collage Jenny with a lovely message. Love it.

Very effective Jenny, the black silhouettes work very well.

Lovely and effective design and background Jenny.

Thanks very much, Lewis, Chris, Fiona, Martin, Carole, Tessa and Diane for your welcome comments!

A lovely collage

Very effective piece Jenny, I like the consistent colour choices. I own a small piece of ‘papier collé’ work by a local artist, and I’ve always said that I’d get around to trying the technique when I have the time.

Many thanks, Anne and Andrew! Must admit I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction to this one - it was very much a spur of the moment thing using collage pieces I already had, and I hesitated before posting it. I do enjoy collage, though, it’s fun and stress-free!

Beautifully done, Jenny. Lovely use of shapes and space, and a gorgeous palette.

Thank you, Coral and Seok! (Seok, nice to see you posting again.)

A couple of wrens making an early statement of intent for the new year? Like it. You’ll shame me into making a first post for 2023. Been otherwise busy since last spring. Garden redesign, arranging piano music for church. It’s all arts it’s way, Jenny.

Thanks, Frank! Yes, won’t be long before the start of the nesting season, although it’s robins and blue tits that nest in our garden each year. I know all too well the feeling of getting distracted from painting by other things that needs doing. Let’s hope for a good painting year in 2023!

Nice collage Jenny

Thank you, Malcolm!

‘Post your first artwork of 2023’. Have been concentrating on linocuts recently and haven’t done any new paintings for some time. Have, though, just done this quick collage. Happy New Year!
