Running Hare

Comments

Very effective. Lots of texture and the hare is full of movement. Lovely work Jenny!

I like this, it has a dramatic quality.

I've the choice of colours here,Jenny.

Great life in this one and the background make it glow.

Wonderfully inventive Jenny. Your head must be constantly buzzing with ideas! I like the whole idea of the Hare running through the wheat with a harvest sun/moon looking over him.

Silhouette Hare looks great against that background,

This collage is very interesting in it's colours and textures. Very effective.

Thanks very much for the positive comments! I wasn’t too sure about this one - the hare turned out to be more of a silhouette than I’d meant it to, but it seems to work OK. I don’t have any set ideas when I start these, I’m just working through a few colour combinations of the various acrylic inks that I have and see what the results suggest - nothing is planned, so quite enjoyable to see where it takes you!

Really like this Jenny.

Great contrast with the black hare leaping across the bright coloured background.

Thank you, Diane and Sandra!

I can't begin to imagine how you've done this but it's very impressive!

Thanks, Sarah! It’s actually deceptively simple - wet a clean sheet of watercolour paper, position some crumpled cling film on it getting the rough shapes you want, then lift one end and drop acrylic ink into it - you can manipulate the shapes as it runs down, but the result is never entirely predictable!

Really interesting to read how you used the cling film Jenny, it’s very effective.

Lovely technique Jenny.

Many thanks Katy, Andrew and Gillian!

Never stop experimenting.

Thanks, Clive! I think experimenting is what keeps me motivated most of the time.

Don't know how i missed this Jenny, fantastic work.

Thanks, Linda!

Beautiful colour and texture experiment, the hare silhouette works a treat.

Thanks, Anjana!

Another acrylic ink collage. Think I’ve probably finally exhausted my enthusiasm for using the inks, must get back to some proper painting! (For the background used FW inks Indian Yellow and Red Earth.)
