They certainly do make you take time with observation. I particularly like the nose and muzzle area. It looks soft and velvety

Thanks Diana. I find the muzzle area is the most satisfying bit to do. I avoid doing portraits unless requested, though - the concentration required can be quite exhausting! (but at least you know they have a home to go to when finished).

Watercolour. Horse portrait requested by a friend. I'm not sure I really enjoy doing these, there's not much scope for being creative, except with the background - but they do help improve observational skills!
