This just made me smile, Jenny! He's delightful, and I love the effect of the blobs and spatters, which make the painting very vibrant and lively.

Thanks, Seok, it was meant to be a fun painting, so I'm glad it made you smile!

With both hands , the cleaver little monkey.

I don't know if it was your intention but that little face is super cute. Diana

Thanks, John and Diana! (Yes, my intention was to make him look cute - it draws the attention from the rest of the painting which is rather mediocre! I also like painting animals and trying to give them a bit of character.)

Lol.....Jenny he's a real cutie. He looks very pleased with himself and he's got his hands full by the looks of it! I like how the washes spread and settle on the paper, I've never tried it, is it a glossy finish?

I had a look on You Tube about painting on Yupo Jenny. I think I would get frustrated. However I absolutely love this. Great work. I can admire it without the frustration of trying to do it. Works for me.

Thanks, Fiona and Adele. Fiona, Yupo is strange stuff - synthetic (polypropylene) about the thickness of printer paper with a super smooth bright white matt finish. It's also waterproof which is what makes it such a challenge to paint on! It's worth getting some just to play around with, and unless you use inks you can just wipe it clean if you want to start again.

Such great control Jenny, I'm hopeless with Yupo!

Thanks, Carole. (This was my second attempt at this, the first got wiped, and I fiddled with this one endlessly before deciding it was just about finished. I think it's a matter of perseverance more than anything!)

Thanks for the info Jenny, it sounds challenging!lol

Watercolour on Yupo paper. Not sure how well this one has worked, it's very tricky stuff to paint on - on the plus side, though, the colours stay nice and bright, and it's very easy to remove areas of paint and start again (although this does encourage fiddling around, which is something I tend to do too much anyway!)
