Dreary weather was my first thought and then how well you have captured that feeling of being closed in by the weather. Evolving is good. Look forward to more.

Oil on Canvas 20" x 16". What a summer! Last week I managed to get out and paint a couple of pochades which captured the dreary atmosphere of North Ribblesdale and this is the resultant picture. I kept the painting loose in this using blocks of colour rather than form, and I feel its a new direction I'm taking, just goes to show how painting style can evolve, although I am slow at evolving! I'm relatively happy with the outcome of the painting although I had contrast / tone issues, particularly with the middle distance hill on the right.
