Plagued by insects on this one Ian!, it is lovely, great details and lovely colours, love the bushes hanging on to the sides of this emerging rocky stream area

8x6" WS Oil on canvas board. This is Brants Ghyll, a spring in the Limestone country where a small tributary of the Ribble emerges from a massive cave system deep underneath Pen-y-ghent above Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Yorkshire. This was a difficult one to paint as to get the right view meant scrambling to the bottom of the deep valley, and crossing the stream itself. It took 2 hours to complete, as several pauses were necessary to wait for passing showers, also I had to endure biting ants, and numerous insects keen to embed themselves in the painting.
