Along the Ribble Way
8x6" WS Oil on Canvas Board. Pochade in 1 1/2hours along the Ribble way looking south at Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Another daily painting exploring summer in the dales, the scene is a hay meadow before cutting with the Ribble marked by the treeline to the front and center, I know compositionally it's not textbook, but the faint line of the path takes you into the painting and if you knew the track you could empathise with the conmposition. Once again I rather rushed the left hand side of the painting as the clouds were becoming greyer and I wanted to get finished before it started raining.
