‘Hey Jude’

Comments

‘Hey Jude’, which is credited to Lennon and McCartney was originally titled ‘Hey Jules’ and was written for Julian Lennon when his parents John and Cynthia were going through a divorce to show that love is out there and to always look for happiness and for people who can make you feel happy. The line ‘ don’t let it under your skin, then you begin to make it better’, leads into a stronger and more positive phrase and a change in the tone of the music into a major chord.

A wonderfully striking picture of Jude and nice memories of her.

What a special painting about a special dog it's rather beautiful. We always have a special dog in our hearts.

Splendid painting, and great stories to go with it.

She looks like she was one special dog - very interesting effects with watercolour Spencer

An excellent painting Spencer! The colours are lovely and rich.

Brilliant painting Spencer

Excellent depiction! 15 years is good going for a large dog.

Well done Spencer.

That’s a beautiful painting of your doggy friend Spencer, and lyrics to match. My husbands name is Julian, I call him Jules.

Only added a heart, beautiful dog beautiful piece of work.

What a lovely painting! I wouldn’t have guessed that this is a watercolour, the strength of tone and colour is amazing and shows it was a good ploy to use the medium straight from the tube. Well done Spencer 😊

Thank you s much Jiri and Frank. I really appreciate your comments. I will definitely use the paint straight from the tube if I want this depth of colour again.

Continuing my Beatles theme this one is a play on words as I’m finding it difficult to create an image for the lyrics but this is Jude (Judy). She was my dog as a child who was the most placid and caring dog I’ve ever known. If you were ill of feeling down she was there with her paw on you. She lived to the ripe old age of 15 which is pretty good in dog years. I painted her in watercolours but, to get the intensity of colour i wanted I used it straight from the tube onto a wet brush.
