Continuing my Beatles series is “Blackbird” which was written by Paul McCartney in 1968. He said the lyrics were inspired by the call of a blackbird in Rishikesh, India whilst studying transcendental meditation but also by the racial tensions and uprising in the southern US where there was a call to move from segregation towards equality. This is shown within my painting.
