Love the rich colours and the delicacy of the flower Gina.

Gina, every one of your excellent paintings displays the skill of many years of practice.

The petals seem to glow, and with the "sky" background it looks like its floating on the breeze. superb

Thank you for your kind comments, and yes I have ben painting a long time. 35 years seriously, going to college in the evenings to learn how to use traditional oil paints. Have tried other media but always return to oils as my first choice. Now retired I can paint at leisure, which is great.

The colours in this rose made me want to pluck it from the paper. Glowing and beautiful painting Gina.

It's all been said before but just had to make a comment. Lovely.

Very beautiful work Gina.

I do love flowers, and this old fashioned rose caught my eye and decided to use Griffin Alkyd fast drying oils once again, the two main colours Alizarin Crimson and French Ultramarine for the very dark areas on the petals. The yellow and red stamens help bring the rose to life, as parts of the rose were quite dark and thought it needed a light background to project it forwards. The background is almost a sky with a hint of Cobalt and white, and think it works fairly well. Totally hooked on these paints!
