Rose out of the Shade
I caught this image on my camera one very sunny day, with the rose straining to get into the sun and out of the shade. Roses like the sun more than the shade and I thought I'd paint it. Using Griffin Alkyd oil paints given to me by a friend, it was painted the traditional way using glazes. It would have taken longer to dry using traditional oil which I've used in the past 35 years, but with Griffin they dry in no time at all. I can continue painting a few hours later. I've been using these "new" paints for about 8 months and not returned to my usual oils.
