Can't believe this is watercolour as it is so good and it is difficult to achieve this level in the medium. I love the way the images fades out at the edges which adds a looseness to the painting.

I've looked closely and I'm impressed :) This is a wonderful watercolour. The background effect is very good as is the stripey fabric. It must have taken a long time to get those stripes right! May I ask what size the painting is?

I think this is about the best watercolour I have ever seen. The skill is truly amazing. Not only is the face painted beautifully but all those folds in the fabric are simply amazing. I also love the edge treatment; that lovely sharp edge of sunlight compared to the misty fading out top and bottom. Truly a brilliant painting.

Thank you for your kind comments, Your feedback is very helpful, to answer a few points, the painting is roughly 14 x 20 inches, the painting in progress film is posted under videos on the left hand bar of this page. I am also a drawing and watercolour tutor, so if you have any technique questions please ask, and I will be happy to answer. And I'm going to attempt duplicating the blog on my website to create a blog on this forum, which show what the contents of my classes are, and I go into more detailed descriptions of how a watercolour wash is built up, and what criteria influences my balance of tone and colour.
