Biography

I grew up in a small town on the West Coast of Finland and moved to Scotland with my Scottish husband in my late twenties. As a child and in my teens I was content spending hours drawing and painting but gradually as family commitment and career grew I did less and less art work. Now over the past 8 years I have returned to art full time. I prefer strong bold colours and lose techniques and aim to convey the mood of a scene to the viewer be it a jolly blustery seascape or a threatening storm over the hills. I enjoy painting in watercolour and acrylic but increasingly I have become captivated by the exciting possibilities of mixed media and collage. Recently I have also been experimenting with abstract work. My work can be seen at the Airport Gallery in Edinburgh and at Cambo Estate near St Andrews. I have also exhibited at the Lunardi Gallery in Ceres, the Art Exposure Gallery in Glasgow, the Aiton Fine Art Gallery in Crieff and am a regular exhibitor at the Open Studios North Fife and local art groups in the Fife area. I also exhibited at the Birmingham RBSA Gallery as part of a selected group and regularly contribute to The Secret Art Show for the MS Trust, Tayside Healthcare and Dunkeld Cathedral Charity Exhibitions. My work is held in public and private collections.
