I like it Fiona, the mountain across from me is covered with the first snow and it looks just like this!

It looks fine to me. Beautiful loose landscape Fiona. Lovely shadows across the leading line.

Usual but always unusual. I love the sky Fiona and the little blue tree. Lovely recession and elements and dry brush work that always adds a texture dimension. Feeling a bit verbal today a beauty

Stop belittling yourself Fiona. Some beautiful colour and marks in this piece. And thats what it is all about.

It looks lovely up there Fiona! I like the left hand side, nothing wrong with it. I would love to see a scenery like that instead of the horrible cold rain that we are having here in Berkshire.

You have given it a chilly feel. I like the mix of wet in wet and dry brush.

Thank you Margaret...will you have a go at painting it? Thanks Henry, thought I had done too much in this one, looks busy. Thank you for that Dennis, appreciate it. x Thanks John, I think I'm disappointed with it because I had the idea of a 'quieter' scene....then just got carried away. If the snow is still there tomorrow I might have another 'restrained' go! Many thanks Satu, I have a feeling it will all be gone tomorrow, it was only a light covering but it always looks lovely when it's fresh. Hope you get a break from the grey!

Not bodged Fiona, lovely snowy light.

I see crisp and even snow. It's fab, and what a view to have at your disposal. I hope you are keeping warm!

Beautiful as always, Fiona, there is no mess on the sky and you have cought a beautiful wintry atmosphere.

Beautiful painting Fiona - I am not into snow but I could sit in a window and look at this for ages ;-)

Works for me Fiona, as ever...

Still wonderful Fiona, it works for me, a lovely scenery, Just started here in Kent and only around 2 inches at the moment, but will be out tomorrow probably.

It works....makes me feel cold! love the sky & the loose trees; back to the drawing board!

Many thanks Valerie, Carole, Gudrun, (thermals & wood stove...lol) Cesare for your generous comments.

Thank you Donna, that's very kind of you. Thanks Jim! David I'll look out for the results of your outing in the snow. Thank you Anne, you can have a go at this if you would like to.

It looks very good to me Fiona.

Lovely impression Fiona, crisp and fresh looking, snow arrived here overnight so will try and get out later for a 'quickie'.

Lovely snow scene, Fiona - the sky looks fine, and the darker blue on the horizon is a good contrast. (We've had a little snow but it's frozen overnight - not looking forward to skating around on my dog walk this morning!)

Lovely mark making Fiona, has good design and the simplicity makes it work. Don't see a lot wrong with the sky but I expect like me you are critical of yourself if it doesn't look like how you envisaged it.

The ability of snow to simplify and highlight the major components of an image has always intrigued me, Fiona. You've done a wonderful job in capturing the tiny meandering stream along with the trees that, for me, help create a sense of place. As for the sky - it closely resembles many a winter sky we have here in Canada,

Michael, Alan...did you manage your quickie, Jenny, Barry...that's exactly it, it didn't turn out like the picture I had in mind. Wib, thank you all very much for your feedback.

Beautiful winter landscape! Lovely loose work, Fiona.

16x14 watercolour on Arches. That excited about the first covering of snow and getting out to paint, I rushed this. Put too much in and made a complete mess of the sky, tried to do it wet in wet but bodged the left hand side.
