Beautiful Fiona and the purplish tint adds so much

Great work Fiona. There's always hope.

Hi Fiona very nice painting great tree hope it grows to maturity .

A beautiful tree Fiona, some lovely colour shades in this. Trees usually last so long you wonder what past they have witnessed.

An essence of the Lightning Tree from the tv show Follyfoot. One for the older generation. Love the mauve & earthy tones.

Many thanks Dennis, Michael, Dennis, Carole, Brian for your lovely comments. Brian I remember the series, I even lived in a village called Follifoot, spelt with an 'i' not a 'y'. Wasn't it about horses/stables, I was always mad on horses!lol Thanks again

Love that sky Fiona and bold brushwork!

Looks good

You can always spot a Phippsy - great style Fiona

Exquisite its awesome

what a lonely tree but nicely drawn like the texture throughout Fiona excellent

Love the soft colours in this Fiona - and the top left with the tree set against the pinky sky is really effective.

Louise, Malcolm, Peter, Michael....thanks very much. Michael I like that, 'Phippsy', got a good ring to it. Do you think I could sell under that name...like a 'Banksy'? No, maybe not....lol

Thank you Jenny, David, Avril, Jenny....much appreciated.

I like it Fiona, simply love the way you do these pen and wash paintings

Great work Fiona. I do love the shades of colour. Quite atmospheric too.

Let's hope so Fiona! Lovely palette and calligraphy here.

Thanks very much David, Henry and Sarah for your comments.

Beautiful as always, Fiona.

Thank you Anne, Cesare, Satu.....for your kind comments.

Special as always Fiona, love the soft lilacy palette.

Yes, it was horses a Follyfoot. Fabulous pen and wash with good story with it.

Love the palette and the sketchiness of this one Fiona.

Val, Gudrun, Audrey.....thank you ladies for your comments.

16" x 12" pen and watercolour on Jackson's (rough) paper, Old Holland watercolours and Indian ink. This tree stands on what was covered with acres of conifers that have been felled for timber in the Galloway forest. It stands amongst discarded branches, tree roots and the next generation of conifer saplings......I wonder if it will see it's new neighbours in to maturity?
