Can I just say Fiona.... as this is going towards abstract, what about leaving out the windows / openings on the buildings and just dealing with the shapes?

Lovely and very promising. I have finished the cardigan. Washed, shaped and dripping wet.

Funny you should say that about the windows Marjorie, they were the very last things to go in and wondered whether they would be over the top. Thanks for your suggestion. Thanks Gudrun, you’ve finished that quickly! Will check out Clyfford Still’s work.

Good start, Fiona, with the geometric shapes and swirls reminding me of cubism and Picasso. I'm looking forward to the finished piece, which if you're anything like me will be next month some time. lol Brian

I shall watch with interest, Fiona. I get lost in tags like 'abstract' etc...what I'm seeing is a highly stylized boat scene. I like stylized paintings. So abstract or stylized, it's looking good to me.

Looking good Fiona, it's abstract but definitely has an art deco feel to It 😃

Well done Fiona, it's fab! As Marjorie said leave the windows out, et voilà! I do admire your determination to try all kinds of things and it pays of as we can see.

Wow! Really looking forward to seeing the finished painting. Looks like it will be a cracker!

This is lovely Fiona, have not seen this subject from you before, is it something new you are trying

This will look great Fiona, full of shapes all synchronised to fit together can't wait for the colours! ;)

Oh flippin eck......you’ve got more confidence in me than I have. Lol. First I’ve got to transfer it to it’s next support, it will loose something in transfer I’m sure. Looking at it in the thumbnail I notice it could stand darker segments in some areas to balance it a bit more. The problem is.....do I keep it monotone or do I do it in colour?? 🤔 No windows though.....got that.

It’s all been said Fiona. Well done. Look forward to the next stage. I have to confess it’s hard keeping up with the activities on P O L.

Fabulous use of shapes and great tonal work Fiona.

It's an interesting idea Fiona and very well executed. It strongly reminds me of the craft of marquetry. An ordered abstract rather than a chaotic one.

It reminds me of Art Deco paintings Fiona. The scenes that they made out of coloured glass. I like it very much and look forward to seeing the next stage.

I find this very intriguing Fiona and sense that you had great fun producing it. I too am looking forward to seeing the next stage. I think Sarah's comment about coloured glass is very thought provoking. How about having a go at glass painting to add to all your other skills? It's quite therapeutic once you get started.

Looking good Fiona. I like the design and shapes here :)

Thank you very much John, Michael E, Michael M, Sarah, Carol, and Louise for leaving feed back. It would look very striking as a stained glass piece, not sure if I have the patience for that. Glass painting could be and alternative. Carol good luck for today and the next few days, I’ll be in touch and make the most of being fussed over! Lol

Excellent contrasts of shapes, tones and lines. Superb work, Fiona!

Thanks very much Seok.

I love all these rather angular abstracts you've done, Fiona.....very unusual style!
