Higgledy Piggledy Barn

Love higgledy and piggledy and you've caught the tired decay of the building nicely, Fiona.

You’ve captured this perfectly.

Always wanted a barn to keep my higgledy piggledies in! Good job Fiona.

You have some interesting views to paint and this is no exception. You've really caught that old, crumbling look of the barn and the pen work is so good. Also, I bet the birds and other wild life see this barn as their home so hopefully it's around for a good few years yet :)

Love it Fiona, beautiful drawing.

Thank you very much Willie, Ellen, Carolyn, lol...Linda, Louise......it was the old blacksmith barn years ago, it’s up for sale at the moment. Quite a large space with another building attached to it on the left as you’re looking at it......yours for a mere £65 thousand. Lewis, I take that as a huge compliment coming from the king of ink! Lol

Nice work Fiona love it

Great sketch Fiona. You're really good at capturing these old buildings.

A lot of detail and care has paid off Fiona.

It's a lovely mellow old barn.

Very atmospheric. Captured well.

Beautiful pen work, Fiona. I love old barns. Well done!

Such character a lovely stone barn well portrayed in ink Fiona.

I nearly missed this one, Fiona. I had my hair cut earlier today and I've lost all my strength. *smile* The rustic charm of this piece is super. The degradation keeps the barn on the right side of dereliction, so much so that I can almost hear the timbers creaking. The snug tree adds to the abandonment. Quite moody, I'd say. Brian

Another rather nice old building Fiona, could convert into a studio for me. Anyway, super drawing and not overworked on the stonework, I also like your tree branches which are made in one clean sweep, rather than little scratches which I tend to think used to be your old style a while back.

Lovely, great mark making. I think you would like my daughter in laws work, Fiona.

This is lovely, Fiona, I really like pen and ink work.

A nice subject to sketch, love the composition , and inkwork.

Another beauty Fiona

Lovely sketch Fiona -there is a great sense of the stone etc. So have you put a deposit down for a new studio?!?

Smashing drawing Fiona😃

Thank you ever so much everyone for your generous comments. Yes, I’ve considered the purchase of this place for a gallery but it would need much more spending on it than I’m willing to contribute. It would make a fabulous studio and gallery.

Hi Fiona, as you asked , my daughter in law's work can be seen on her facebook page Jem Dunn Designs. I am trying to get her to post on here too.

Lovely lines, tones and marks, and great ambience too. Super work, Fiona!

Thank you very much Seok!

lovely drawing skills Fiona love the feeling of light on the building great composition

Thank you David x

I love old bandstand this one good with great shading. I find sketching stonework on buildings and walls therapeutic !

It is therapeutic Richard, I find myself getting lost in the stone work and the shading. Thank you very much.

Hate predictive text ! Of course I meant barns not bandstand !!

Lol.....I thought maybe you hadn’t had enough water with your dram there for a moment Richard. I have the same problem with it.....not the lack of water, the predictive text!

12”x9” Indian ink on Arches watercolour paper. Taken from a pencil sketch I did last year of the old stone barn behind the Bank book shop.
