Seemingly simple brush strokes with a good end result!

Great, a painting with a story!

Heather, Paul, Mia…..thanks very much, glad you like it.

Brilliant Fiona! Trees are us, today!

Excellent Fiona.

Lovely stuff Fiona!

So loose and fluid and it says so much- you’ve such a talent..

Beautifully affective Fiona!

Beautiful brush strokes 😍

Must be those witches on the move again Fiona.

Super painting Fiona, loose and free, also great to have this on your doorstep. We were watching a great murmuration of starlings from the back of our house only yesterday. Lovely!

Like the way you have done this.

Most appealing Fiona.

Nice one Fiona,I hope they are quieter than the jackdaws near me.

Love this, it says it all.

Good expressive sketch Fiona, rapid but under control in the main!

Lively and expressive with no fussing. Like it

Lovely capture and those Rooks do swarm and flutter , their cawing must be loud too , well painted Fiona!

Was scrolling down and just caught the top of this painting, I knew straight away who painted this! It has your free watery brush stoke style which I love (I could have been wrong) but was a good guess 😉. First class as always. 👍👍

Many thanks to you all for your kind and generous comments.

You have captured this scene perfectly Fiona - it’s so full of life.

Thank you very much Shaun, appreciate your comment.

Watercolour Stillman & Birn sketchbook. This Rookery of mature Beech trees is about 300 yards from the house, it’s a winter roost for Rooks and Jackdaws…..thank goodness it isn’t a summer roost and nesting site! When I watch them rise and fall into the trees my stomach does somersaults…..I love to watch them and listen to the chattering, catching up with the days news…..and best fields to visit. Painted from the front window.
