Spectacular - love the contrast between the sky and the rest of the landscape.

That was quick David! Thank you very much.

A lovely lively scene, Fiona - I like the lightness in the sky and that super tree!

So good Fiona

Your new brighter blue seems to be working well Fiona! Good to try new colours out. Lovely painting.

Hmm... what blue is it? It doesn’t look very natural for skies, not that skies have to look natural of course.

It's a beautiful blue Fiona. Really stands out. Lovely.

The colours work well together and its a lovely composition. Nice one Fiona.

Thanks very much Anne, the trees are my favourite part. Thanks Heather! Tessa I’m not usually one for buying lots of different tubes of paint but I thought, why not....thanks for your comment. That was the point Alan, I didn’t want a natural sky, glad you picked up on that. The colour is Old Holland Blue Light (acrylic) they don’t do the same colour in oils Thank you Denise, appreciate your comment.

Oopps missed you out Stevan. Many thanks Stevan, it’s from a photo I took ages ago on my way to the Moss. I don’t generally paint from photos, not that I don’t want to but I can’t seem to translate from a photo in to a painting.

I always love your blues whether hinted at or all out! It's lovely.

Nice bold work Fioma.

I liked it immediately, Fiona but, this time, didn't recognise it instantly as yours. The blue works well with the ? Naples Yellow and makes the painting striking. The reflections are attractive too. Like you, I like the trees best. I think you've dragged a small amount of paint over dry sky. The sky tone shows through and it works very well.

Thank you Sarah, it’s good to have a change occasionally. A little more confidence in applying colour, I think Stephen, glad you like it.....thank you. Thank you for your positive comments Roger, appreciate your feedback.

Really lovely composition. Love the colours

Fantastic blue sky and reflections on the river Fiona. A lovely rendition of early spring Fiona.

Thank you very much Keith and Carole for your kind observations, much appreciated.

I like this very much Fiona. I can see it's full glory on my laptop which is much better than it came across on my phone. Beautiful colours and I love the marks in the foreground. It goes without saying that the tree is well painted!

Love those colours and reflections Fiona, another place to add to my list..

Works really well Fiona, had a look on google map. What a lovely area you are near and so many scenes to paint.

Great use of loose and effective brushwork and good choice of colour Fiona. I like the slightly hazy background which produces depth.

I love it Fiona - that blue and the acrylic. Your style appears better with acrylic I see.

Maureen, Diane, Lesley, Michael, David, Shaun, Michael......you are so generous with your kind and positive comments, thank you very much. X

Wonderful blue, love the simplicity of the composition, and the colours.

Thank you for your comment Sandra.

16”x12” acrylic on paper. You may have noticed from the few latest postings, I have a new (to me) blue, it’s quite adventurous for me, as it’s bright! I am still plodding on with acrylics, which I find frustrating.....but great for mixed media work due to drying times. Bishop burn is along the lane from Carsegowan Moss and runs into the Cree Estuary.
