Love this Fiona - beautifully done with that wonderful pop of yellow whin at the front. As a child I lived across the road from a rookery - messy but love to see them!

It's gorgeous Fiona, it's beautiful from top to bottom. A lovely softness, wonderful use of colour, the way you have delineated the trees and gorse and of course the rooks, so alive, the sky so beautiful.

We have spoken before Fiona about how hard oil pastel can be to use but in this you have made great use of it in combination with other media to make an outstanding piece of art work..

From childhood Fiona I’ve always said my favourite colour is yellow and the contrast with the moody greys here is excellent , very dramatic and a successful use of mixed media.

16”x12” mixed media....acrylic, oil pastel, soft pastel and conte crayon on sugar paper/card. Would you believe this was two days ago! Even though the sky was heavy and grey, there are signs of the year moving on. The Rookery, for its din, the residents quarrelling over a stick, the beautiful buttercup yellow of the gorse (Whin) flowering in time for the early bumblebees, and the still flooded fields here and there.....just to remind us there is still time yet, for more of the wet stuff.
