Hope I haven't missed any of yours Fiona, recognised this one straight away as yours. You have trees now as a view, I am so pleased. Excellent work.

Really beautifully done, Fiona, The subtle palette is really lovely. Love the varied brushwork too!

No stopping you now Fiona :) Fab- U- lous!

I'm with Seok on this one, Fiona! It's a wonderful painting. I particularly like the rocks in the foreground.

It is a pleasure Stephen, I've put the dishwasher in the garage....no longer required! Thank you Satu, Ann, Glennis, Seok, Val and Lionel, your comments mean a great deal to me.

Beautiful watercolour landscape Fiona, gorgeous palette

Many thanks Ros, much appreciated.

Can I do your washing up? :-) What a cracking view, and beautifully painted

Like this - I also like your rocks: I know it's a small part of the picture, but what I like about them is that they're PAINTED, not scratched out with a corner of old credit card or using whatever trick the instant-results painting tutors recommend. (Guilty admission: I've used credit cards, razor blades, and pen-knife myself in w/colour and acrylic - but your rocks look better than mine, and I think I shall stop!)

Superb watercolour Fiona, fantastic use of colours and gorgeous brushwork. Your trees are awesome.

Yes Chris, any time you like....bring your paints!! Thank you very much Robert, I know what you mean about the gimmicks some artists use, I tried the credit card idea for rocks but couldn't get them to look convincing enough. I do occasionally scratch out grasses etc into wet paint. Many thanks Joseph, I take your comment as a huge compliment, I admire your work very much.

great stuff Fiona

Wonderful painting. There is no excuse now for no inspiration if that is the view from the kitchen window. Glorious. I like the tones you have created in this one. Am I right in thinking you are using a different paper, or just you are not using your journal?

Thank you Alan, very much appreciate your comments. Hi Gudrun, this is my usual paper, Arches, but the paper in my journal is very differnt to this one, much more of a grain and slight tint to it. Thanks for your comment Gudrun.

So beautifully muted and harmonious. I really love those touches of clean fresh blue behind the tree - draws my eye in straight away. This is a great painting, Fiona.

Thank you Thea, very kind of you to say so.

hi Fiona some nice watercolour paintings here, this one really captures the atmosphere of summer, rather like the weather today! Best regards, emma :-)

I haven't done one of these for a while, a view from rooms in the house. This is the view from the kitchen window, I quite like washing up now! Done on Arches 16 x 12, Old Holland watercolours; U. marine, touch of L. red, B. umber, R. umber, R. sienna.
