After all you've said Fiona -you've successfully painted a boat, and very good it is too. I do like what you've achieved with just three colours. A case of less is more I think Well done

thanks Fiona for this ,you always do a great painting .and this is no exception .. when I am out of humour to paint ,, I can always look at your paintings and get inspiration alan

Well done Fiona, definately got an 'Alanish' look about it - no bad thing!

It is lovely Fiona (and Alan), I like the colours used and the lovely loose style, Fiona. I love the composition, drawing etc, Alan

i just love colouring in, it's the best part isn't it Fiona :-) i agree with Stephen, it does have the Alanish quality to it :-) and i think you have coloured it perfectly :-)

Great colouring in Fiona. This is a vey attractive painting and the limited colour scheme really works well.

Nothing wrong with a little help from your friends. Lovley tones. The cool blue is really effective with the rest of your palette of two! Lovely, as usual.

Great partnership...well done both of you.

Thanks very much everyone, much appreciated.

Agree with Sylvia - great partnership indeed! Love the palette, Fiona, and the gorgeous light. Super!

Lovely blustery sky Fiona and great "colouring in".

Thank you Seok and Val, your comments are always gratefully received.x

By the way, your suggestion of creating a wash behind the torch bearer was considered. I had a car and a stretch of road in mind, but then I felt it would get me away from the minimalist "thing" I'm doing at the moment! It is more visible in real life. The camera likes red.

This is a joint effort, Alan sent me a sketch and I've done the colouring in!! Lol! I hope you think I've done it justice Alan. Really enjoyed it even if I fafted about with the water a bit, hope it hasn't ruined the overall effect. Arches 12"x16" and Old Holland watercolours.....only three colours used; Ultra marine, Burnt umber and Raw sienna and the stripe on the boat was done with a little Pthalo blue. Thanks for looking.
