I love all things Art Deco, and this is a wonderful example of the style, the car compliments the cinema so well, and giving it a 'poster' format is a great idea, really well done eaves.

Dear Petra, Many thanks for your comments about the painting and also art deco. There are still some great examples of art deco around but sadly a lot of the buildings have been demolished, one of the best used to be the Odeon cinemas.

An art deco cinema which was in an area of London in 1936 with an open top American Duesenberg J type car. I have always had a deep interest in art deco and particularly buildings of that period with pastel colours used on outer walls and the unique style of the sculptures on the outsides of the buildings. This make of car the Duesenberg was a very expensive and luxurious car and was usually bought by Hollywood movie stars of the 1930s period.So I thought it would be appropriate to paint one that was parked outside of the cinema. Oil on canvas size 16"x20".
