Dales erosion
All the devices that I usual include in my pictures are included in this piece. I've tried to develop a scene that not only suggests the Yorkshire dales but also the erosion that happens as thousands of feet per year tread the well known routes. The picture is on mount board with a gesso base applied to develop a dendritic look. The paint is water colour but I've drawn in the cracking rocks with a graphite colour fine liner. The abstract image is pulled back to reality with the horizon and wind swept tree.
