Emma, thankyou for your reaction. In responce to your question ts no secret. I use gesso first, applied with a pallet knife. I then paint over it with watercolour and finaly I knock it back with sand paper.

Love the drama of this Steven, not many paintings can get away with trees set in the centre, but this one has!! nice to hear how you create your sky's.

Thanks Linda. It's good to get your comment on the tree location. I was aware of this when I painted them but I felt that the alignment of background trees would lead in to the point of interest?

In your description you mentioned the word glow.....and it most certainly does Stevan. Some great passages and I love those crisp, sharp trees.
