Really good Paul.

Nice work, Paul, interesting textures and colours.

Martine , Stephen, Jenny, Christine and John thank you for your comments . I’m pleased with it only thing that is bugging me is unfortunately it’s lost some vibrancy and picked up a slight blue tinge. It was quite a while in the making due to the hot weather affecting the drying process of the paint.

I love all the intimate entanglement of the trees Paul. This is such elegant. enticing painting.

Really impressive. The bark in particular is very well done and the rest supports it nicely.

Nice work Paul, interesting shapes and colours.

Perhaps it shows a little better on the forum pages, but it still works; I have so much trouble taking photographs, despite getting a new camera, that I've thought of getting a pro in to do it for me. So my sympathies with your several attempts.

Good group of gum trees Paul

I really, really like it – the vibrancy of the trees, the beautiful color contrasts of the bark. I sympathize with you, it's a difficult thing to photograph!! And yet the picture looks very, very good, Paul!!

Thank you for you very kind comments I appreciate each one. Think I can live with the post not being as good as I would have liked, I have the original, that doesn’t have a blue tinge.

Like this. A great subject well painted.

Many thanks Lew , I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Lovely work Paul I've been following it on the forum.

Thank you Denise I appreciate your comment and following the progress.

Love this one, a wonderful tree study !!

It's turned out beautifully Paul, well done.

Beautiful work Paul, a very good composition.

Thank you Valerie, Diane and Hilary I appreciate your comments. Took a while to complete due to the heat but I really enjoyed working on this one.

A stunner Paul! Great shapes and areas of texture and colour, well represented of the tree.

Than you Fiona , I appreciate your comment .

A4 in A3 mount a watercolour of gum trees , I was inspired by the different colours and shapes of the peeling bark on these magnificent trees, I haven’t been fully able to capture the vibrancy of the colour let along the silver white bark on the outside of the tree. This is on the forum as a work in progress do take a look as it has more information. Unfortunately not a great photo despite several attempts.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
