Liverpool Tug.

Comments

That is very good indeed, Paul - love the level of detail of the tug!!

Excellent work Paul!

And our Cathedral we've got one to spare ,in the back ground. Well drawn Paul.

Lovely work Paul, great scene.

David, Mark, Sylvia, and Denise thank for your kind comments especially from the Liverpudlians . A beautiful city in many ways .

I really like the way you’re handling the backgrounds on your watercolours Paul, again the Tug’s the star of the show here. Nice job as always!

Thank you Anth for your comment I really appreciate it .

Great one Paul. You always get such detail into your paintings.

Nice work Dixie, lots of awkward shapes here. Not easy.

Thank you Spencer and Lew for your kind comments. It was one of the most challenging painting I have done Lew , a few times I thought it wasn’t going to come right still a few bits in not over chuffed with . I’m cross a I just realised I forgot the heavy tow rope that should lay across the curved bars over the engine room still I think I can live with it.

Super detail on what I Imagine is a very tricky shape of boat to paint.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment Tessa , yes it was a bit difficult to paint as once the pencil lines were obscured it was a case of hope for the best.

Great work Paul 🙂

Love how your boats are always so good Paul.

Lovely work Paul, good to see the finished product.

Faye , Carole and Andrew thank you for your comments they are really appreciated.

Good to see the finished product - these little (relatively!) workhorses of the sea are usually only painted as an adjunct to pictures of the big ships: good to see a painting representing the vessels in their own right, boats without which the big ones would be in a lot of trouble.

Beautifully painted, Paul and I also like the busy, muted background - excellent!

Good one Paul and I also like how you've painted the distant background

Thank you for your kind comments Robert , Anne and Heather. Nice to hear your view on these small boats Robert like a lot of other vessels and vehicles that work in the background they are not noticed till missing or needed urgently.

Another good one Paul great detail in the boat against a fine background.

Thank you Brian for your comment.

Well painted and a great atmosphere Paul.

Excellent work

Romila thank you for your comment it’s appreciated.

The detail is beautifully observed and rendered. A lovely piece, Paul.

23x32 cm watercolour painting of a steam tug standing off the docks awaiting the arrival of a ship to tow . It’s always surprising how powerful these small boats are , they look big till they are alongside their charge they then look tiny . Modern tugs don’t hold the same appeal.
