‘The Washing Machine’ 2

Not the kitchen variety then Diana? Splendid water effect and a lovely sense of stillness.

It's beautiful Diana, no wonder it's been requested twice!

This is superb Diana. The water looks great and so calm. I can imagine what it would like in a storm!

Absolutely beautiful Diana. Lovely colours and superb washes and great rocky textures.

Lovely painting Diana, I bet there is a great echo there.

So beautiful and peaceful Diana. Love your handling of soft and hard edges and the stark simplicity of this.

Beautiful - gorgeous colours!

Always impressive work and this no exception.

A glorious depiction of still water.

Just love your neutral shades, rocks perfect and the water beautiful Diana.

Wow amazing 😮

Morning Jim. Many thanks. I think this was winter and the name it’s been given comes from the violent swirling of the incoming tide. Thank you Heather. I’m not doing a third one though . I usually find that the first one is the most successful. Thank you Spencer. I’m told it churns around on even a calm summer day. Sadly, I’m unable to climb down to the beach Thank you Marjorie. Those dark earth colours are beautiful but still with subtle highlights and shadows. Thank you Denise. I haven’t been here but my husband spends many days on this beach. Thank you Carole. Your comments are so complimentary Much appreciated. Thank you Linda. I do love my somber darks 😂 Thank you again Stephen. I really appreciate your continuing support. Thank you Lewis. It was painted for someone who spends many days there. Thank you Carole. There are several glazes on both the water and rocks to achieve depth of colour. Thank you Nigel. I really appreciate your interest. Thank you Faye. Your lovely compliment is most welcome 👍

Super job Diana.

Thanks Rikke. I really value your interest.

Super, rich contrasts in this. I really like it.

Thank you David. It was an early winter morning

This is just great, Diana. Super painting and colours!

Love the depth of this, if you'll pardon the pun! We have a " washing machine" here on Gozo, not often as calm as this one looks!!

Thank you Mia. I do love these cool dark colours Thank you Thalia. I’ve never seen this on a wash cycle though😂. I can’t get down to the most beautiful beach. My husband takes the photos and I watch the wildlife from above.

I recognised this immediately as being yours, Diana. It’s beautiful, and I love the angle you have painted it, it feels like I’m standing in the water.

Emotive and deep - I love this.

Thank you Ellen and Alison. This one has gone for framing today.

This is the second version of this scene. The first one was bought by a lady in America who was happy for me to repaint it. 12’’ watercolour on Saunders Waterford CP. I am unable to get to this cove but look forward to sketching from above it.
