I can see how this version has more definition, even though I liked the 'wild Barry' , I love this- what a handsome fellow!!

I really like this version of Barry , painted so well!!

Love him, what a handsome cat.

What a superb painting, Diana! Very well painted indeed!!

He’s great! Love how you’ve suggested his whiskers, scalpel blade I assume! Great feature article in TA, well done!

I managed to miss the other Barry but this painting is super.

It is SO much better, liked it yesterday, love it today!

He "lives" Diana. Love it. Lovely work.

Really beautiful

Excellent Diana much better version

Thanks Sarah. My husband says this is now ‘him’ He’s a huge Norwegian Forest cat. Thank you Valerie. I am amazed how wrong it all looked after a night away from it. Very satisfying to sort it! Thank you Ellen. I love home but I’ll never have another long haired cat!! He’s like a walking compost heap after lying around the garden. Thank you Paul. I didn’t spend enough time on the previous effort. Just slapping paint on without much regard for tonal values and subtle colour changes Thank you David. The couple of hours spent on it today have made a huge difference Thank you Alan. I painted the whiskers yesterday with poor results. Yes, I used the point of a palette knife. You too!! Congratulations on another excellent article. Thank you Collette. I started this painting yesterday but the outcome was far from ok!!! Thank you Heather. I agree with you that it’s an improvement. That’s about right Jim. He looks alive now rather than a phantom Thanks so much Rachel. I’m really pleased with the changes. Thank you Martin. I’m pleased that you can see the difference. Yesterday was pretty dire😂

My friend has a Siberian forest cat - I assume Barry is similarly huge in cat size! He looks very fluffy, lovely cat expression in his face :-)

He's a beautiful boy, and very well painted now. I had a long-haired cat once, very beautiful, every piece of furniture he went on ended up with a grey and white fur cover, and he was a bit thick. Sadly was run over.

Thanks for being there with another lovely comment Petra. I do appreciate it Morning Helen. I’ve not heard of a Siberian Forest cat so looked them up. They’re beautiful. Thanks Sandra. Sad to hear about your cat. I’ll not have another long haired!! Yes, he’s not too bright and usually brings half the garden in stick to his fur. He’s had three complete shaves over the years !

He’s still fabulous Diana!

A really accomplished piece of work Diana. Beautifully done.

Lovely loose stokes, it oozes confidence.

Yesterday I posted my attempt at painting Barry in oils. I wasn’t at all happy with the result so returned to it today. Proportions were wrong, poor mid tones and tonal values in general. This looks much more like him after adjustments
