Amazing painting as ever, Diana, and wonderful textures. You trasform into art the humblest things.

Beautiful variety of colours, subtly applied.

Thank you Lewis. It’s on of those paintings that looks much better in the flesh. Thank you Nandhini. The shadow adds interest , I agree. Thank you Suzanne and Janet I really appreciate your comments. Thank you Fiona. I love that phrase... tapestry of textures. It’s so descriptive. Thank you Margaret. It’s surprising how realistic objects can look without losing those looseness in areas. Thank you Ibolya, that’s such a lovely comment to read. Thank you Cesare, I’ve wanted to paint this for several years so pleased to have finally got round to it. Thank you Dennis and Philip. It takes some planning to splatter paint in the places you want it!

Diana this is a little beauty, the small shiny red pebble slightly right of centre make for a large amount of satisfaction .

Thank you Sylvia. I’m rather amazed at its realism despite the looser areas.

The pebbles have a lovely wet look and I love the individual marking on them, beautiful Diana.

A very "Diana" effect. Beautiful detail and lovely skill. Nice work Diana.

Very impressive, Diana.

All those techniques have come together so well Diana, lovely interesting piece.

You manage to turn something I wouldn't even notice into something sublime. Lovely work.

Thank you Carole.Jim, Gudrun and Nia. So enlightening to read your comments.

To produce this from such unforgiving water colour is a wonderful achiement. Congratulations.
