Thank you! You have more than achieved your aim!! Very appetising.

Wow sooooo clever.. gorgeous.

You are are wizard Diana! This is so skilful. I love it. Happy New Year to you. :)

You're a magician with shinny and reflective subjects Diana....this is fabulous and so clever. Brilliant! Happy New Year!

Fab-u-lous work Diana, how clever to be able to do the tinfoil, I'm in awe!

Amazing painting as ever, Diana, a great start of new year.

Thank you very much Jim. I had wanted to complete it a few days ago but hurt my back trying to assemble a flat pack easel!! Thank you Gudrun . I'm glad you think so .. Thank you Sylvia . Its hard to know where to abandon the detail. Thanks Carole . I'm pleased that you like it . It was a painting that I was really eager to start. Thanks Fiona.. I think I was a magpie in a previous life!! Thank you Margaret. Its really a collection of shapes in various values. I see it as a sort of jigsaw puzzle. Hell and thank you Cesare . I hope 2017 is a good one for you.

brill you have kicked of the new year with a beauty Diana

I was bowled over when I saw this Diana, it's marvellous! You are soaring up and up!

Thanks Peter. Will you be watching the fireworks? You are in the Hull area aren't you or have I got the wrong Peter? Thank you Marjorie. That's a gratifying comment to read. It's so exciting to know there is gradual improvement!

Great still life set up and brilliantly painted -wonderful!

This is fabulous Diana - and I love the blend of colours you've used. You really are a master of 'all things shiny'! (Out of interest, did you paint it from life, or take a photo first?)

Terrific Diana, so well observed and translated into watercolour. I need a lie down just thinking about the concentration this must have required!

Wow, Diana! Fantastic, once again! Those apples look so real, I want to take one to eat!!! The softness surrounding the tinfoil really works. You genius, you!!!! Happy New Year to you, too!

Thank you Willie. I set it up with four apples initially but remembered about using odd numbers. Thank you Jenny. Think I wax a Magpie in another life!! I set the image up and took photos. I should have a go at painting from life as it might speed me up and take away the temptation to over paint. Thank you Sharon. You made me laugh. Thanks Helen for your generous comment and Jennifer, thank you too. I hope you are back to painting with clearer vision.

One word... Amazing!

PS. You should enter this for the Ken Bromley cover competition this year!

Absolutely brilliant Diana!!

That's fabulous Diana and the background softening works brilliantly against the crisp detail , I've been away for the last while without the temptations of the internet and now back to reality hope you have a happy , artistic and peaceful new year

Thank you Lee. Lovely to hear from you. Jenny, that's an option and it's a wonderful compliment for you to suggest it. Hello Russell and thanks for taking time to leave your encouraging message. Thank you Dermot. Must be rather relaxing to be Internet free. Looking forward to seeing your paintings in 17.

Magnificent study Diana.

Great contrast of the hard edged foil and the lovely round apples, great control and feeling.

Thanks John. It's one of those that just turned out better than others. I regularly reach a stage where I have no idea where a painting is going ( insufficient planning) and have to rely on trial and error, particularly in the backgrounds

You take on some really challenging subjects, with great results. I admire your skills.

Thank you Ibolya. I love light and reflections.

That is such a difficult combination of subjects to paint, complete opposites, but you have completely nailed it Diana - well done, very impressed!

Thanks Carl. I had a period of painting items in foil. I really enjoyed it.

Simply amazing. You’ve really mastered reflective surfaces, materials and water. Superb

Wow, I could look at this all day Diana. Adam

Thank you Adam. I enjoyed painting the foil series

Thanks for encouragement on my clowns Diana. You certainly like difficult reflections in your work but make it look easy, there all brill. You can see the top of a hippies face in the reflection top left apple, only clowning.Les😃😄😅 .

Hello Les. Yes I can see a face ! I’ll always see it now 😄😂

Love this, Diana.

Half imp. Saunders Waterford rough 200lb. I wanted to emphasise the crisp creases of the foil so tried to soften the surround. Happy New Year to you all.
