January, near Adlington
This one nearly went in the bin after the sky wash. I painted upside down to get a graduated sky, darker at the roofline and lighter higher up, but I was impatient and turned it right way up too soon, creating a huge cauliflower. As this developed, however, I persevered with the rest of the picture and it ended up looking more like distant hills or clouds. A happy accident, that's what watercolour's all about.
