Thanks for all your appreciation. The funny thing is, because there's no detail, it didn't feel rushed. By keeping the mid- and foreground mixes fairly dry only a couple of trees, lower right, bled into the river wash, and the blue distant trees went in last to let the wet-in-wet sky dry fully.

Very crisp little sketch, David.

It's a skill to make a flat landscape look interesting and you've got that.

Thank you both for your kind comments. If I'd known 25 minutes painting could attract such compliments, I wouldn't have spent 3 to 4 times as long on the others!!

Painting with a friend in Essex, we were admiring the view from a cafe over a late afternoon cuppa. We asked if we could set up our easels and were told the car park gates would be locked in half an hour. This took 25 minutes!
