Thank you all for those compliments, but what is lovely is the lighting that Mother Nature provides. I think this sort of picture epitomises why I love outdoor painting. I don't think I could have achieved the same fresh glow copying from a photo, and the subject is just an ordinary field bank which would have looked nothing on a dull day. It's true, painting is not about the subject, it's all about the light falling on it.
