Thank you all for those appreciative comments. Stephen, I find that rocks and stonework are conveyed well with 3 colours - W & N Green Gold, and 2 from Daniel Smith's, Transparent Yellow Oxide and Lunar Black. I know they say never use black but just a touch of this granulating pigment in the mix adds the gritty texture I want. The fissures are easy with a rigger and add more credibility to the rocks.
