This is a beautiful watercolour, and so well composed. Adlington near Chorley, Lancashire, by any chance?

Thank you all for your kind words, glad you like it, but the composition and colours are down to Mother Nature, really! Ruth, it's Adlington, Cheshire, close to where I live, and Valerie - we only had a day of snow. It was, however, a day when I couldn't get out there to paint it, so I photographed the light and colours on the field behind our house, then picked a sketch from my local sketchbooks and blended the two in an indoor painting.

I saw my maidenname and had to look David. Its lovely. Cold, chilly but lovely .

Enthused by the recent snowy weekend I created two snow scenes at home from my local sketchbooks, using the same limited palette of Cobalt Blue, French Ultramarine, Burnt Sienna & Quinacridone Sienna. This is the first.
