Lovely atmospheric painting. I really like the looseness and colour palette.

Thank you both for your supportive comments. The purpose of my quick colour trials is to find a treatment that would look good painted on watercolour paper in a more considered way. The sky is very patchy as cartridge paper doesn't accept wet-in-wet like watercolour paper, but this exercise showed me that a dark sky would work well when I do a normal watercolour or pen and wash version.
